the Southern Death Cult Live Queens Hall Bradford England Oct 29th 1981

I FINALLY GOT SOMEONE TO SHARE SOME SOUTHERN DEATH CULT SETS WITH ME...
and you lucky sods get to reap the bennies.

the Southern Death Cult Live Queens Hall Bradford England Oct 29th 1981

Sound quality is 'B+'. Its 1981 and someone from the audience is taping the Southern Death Cult with their walkman, this is one exceptional recording under those circumstances of yeasteryear.

Yes folks this includes the unissued only played for the 1st month or so, most sought after your years (by me at least) 'War Dance'.

With the blessing of lostockboy I'm sharing these on the net, hopefully for ever, even after we're all dead and gone for the aliens to come across and be moved to boggie until they blow chunks.

Mp3 audio source: mp3 :-: thanx to lostockboy - sent them as flac I converted them to mp3 for 2 reasons, 1) for small downloads and 2) I know many people aren't familiar with flac so to make them as user friendly as possible I mp3 them.

the Southern Death Cult John Peel Session May 21st 1982

the Southern Death Cult John Peel Session May 21st 1982

Sound quality is 'B- / C+'. i know the source tapes are clean, this was capped through a boom box at time of broadcast, over all
a good recording.

This is the full session, unlike what we found on the vinyl and cd so if for no other reason you can hear the full session, All Glory ends within .49 seconds but thats on the vinyl and cd pressings. This does sound a bit slower to me, could just be me though.

Sound quality is 'B'.

Loooooouuuud but a bit muddy. Ian has some interesting chater with the crowd, or at least at the crowd.

They play Vivisection and the Crow twice. I think for a bit they're arsenal of songs wasn't that big and they took the agreed upon group favs and played them twice.

the Southern Death Cult Live Futurama 4 Deeside Leisure Centre Queensferry Wales Sept 12th 1982

Sound quality is 'B'.

Descent enough, considering how rare SDC live sets are, sounds like you're listening to this on a radio broadcast of a station you can barely get in, kinda nostalgic, I know the kids don't understand "radio station".

They only replay the Crow on this one. Musta been an Ian fav or sumptin.

the Southern Death Cult Live Leeds University Leeds England Oct 30th 1982

the Southern Death Cult Live Leeds University Leeds England Oct 30th 1982

Sound quality is 'B'.

I have speakers designed to push a crap load of bass and this recording swims in it, a bit too much so I kick it back a bit and it gets a bit cleaner and the volume level is pretty good also.

This has a 7+ minute version of the Crypt, SDC was post rock before post rock was <;-)

the Southern Death Cult Live Rafters Manchester England Dec 6th 1982

Sound quality is 'B+ / A-'.

Yes kiddies the Rafters show ... pretty damn good source for it too, it's not the same show as on the official releases though but still .. 'Bop'til'you DROP', unless the dates are wrong and they touched up the songs in the studio after the fact for the official pressing, which I doubt but one never knows, or at least I don't cos I wasn't there.

the Southern Death Cult Live Heaven Ultradisco London England Feb 21st 1983

Sound quality is 'B+'.

Prob an 'A' but the volume levels drop in and out so it's not consistent. Another kind soul with a walkman bopin' about recording this for us all to hear decades later.

the Southern Death Cult Live Tiffanys Newcastle England Feb 23rd 1983

the Southern Death Cult Live Tiffanys Newcastle England Feb 23rd 1983

Sound quality is 'B / B-'.

The bass and guitar sounds great on this one and the vocals and drums sound a bit distant and flat and the vocals can sound distorted at times and not in the Discharge type of way.

Of course I'm a middle aged guy whos been hammering his ear drums for decades so maybe it's just all my personal inner filter that's out of whack.

the Southern Death Cult Live Polythechnic Manchester England Feb 26th 1983

the Southern Death Cult Live Polytechnic Manchester England Feb 26th 1983

Sound quality is 'B / B+'.

Good volume at times its almost like the volume pushes too high into the range and there are drops esp in the bass, but then I pay attention to the bass 1st and foremost in most of my modern tunage.

I think what it is perhaps Ians not belting out all the vocals and the Barry not finishing all his notes through, maybe a sign of things to come in the bands demise.
