the Flowerpot Men Janice Long Session March 09th 1986

the Flowerpot Men Janice Long Session March 09th 1986

Sound quality is 'A'.

I've never known much about these guys except that in Ferris Bullers Day Off they had this great song in it. Eventually found a bootleg of the soundtrack with the song in the late 80s, it was a good day.

So fast forward to the later 90s or early 00 and I stumble across the true underground o the internet and found this along with 3 12in eps.

Unfortunately for me Beat City was the best song this band ever did, by a long shot.

But in all honesty this Janice Long Session shows the band very well with all songs being pretty solid for that mid 80s electronic flare. Still I never really listen to many of these songs all the way, just give me my fix of Beat City please.

Mp3 audio source: 12in (not my 12in mind you)

Covers (single image-itunes/winamp) created by record company bigwhig.

01 Sharpen My Heart
02 Alligator Bait
03 Beat City
04 Django

It has always been my understanding that The Flowerpot Men are essentially Love And Rockets incognito. In fact, look at the cover of this and you can see Daniel Ash with his 80's big hair in the photo.

Once again, I am wrong - it's the Bubblemen that Love and Rockets used to be incognito for.

The Flowerpot Men were Ben Watkins and Adam Peters. They later changed their name to Sunsonic. I was fortunate enough to catch them live once at the Underground in Croydon (south London).
