the Fall Live Reading Festival August 28th 1987

the Fall Live Reading Festival August 28th 1987

Sound quality is 'B'.

I can't for the life of me remember who I got these from so if you see this give a shout in the comments section so we can all give you proper thanx.

Using the original info from the original poster:

Although the sound is generally average on this recording, it is possibly one of the largest gigs the band ever played - second on the bill at the Reading Festival. They were originally third, but Spear of Destiny pulled out, leaving The Fall playing immediately before headliners The Mission. This period was the band's commercial peak, and the set is largely comprised of songs from 'The Frenz Experiment' and singles of that period.

Talking of Spear Of Destiny. Do you have any bootlegs of theirs? Or Theatre Of Hate? Or The Pack!!
Great blog by the way - brilliant stuff.

Looks like this came from my blog (bigboxoftapes.blogspot.com). Glad you're enjoying the Fall stuff I have. Legion: there are some Spear boots on the blog, too.

hEY Nice one Fat Reg I just became one of your "followers".You're not the Messiah though, but probably a very naughty boy nonetheless.
And thanks to the Symphony for some great posts (been listening to Fugazi all day..thanks!)

Oh yeah I was gonna say I was at this particular Fall Gig..got there late without a ticket and could hear The Mighty Fall beginning their set as I arrived at the turnstile..luckily I had a very gobby, "persuasive" girlfriend at the time, who somehow managed to blag us both in (nothing sleazy..she just had a way of "wearing people down")-In '87 you still had local Hells Angels on security/turnstiles,etc,so you could say the girl (hello Justine if yr reading this..unlikely but anyway..) had a lot of charm(that wasn't the first,or last, gig she got us into..we weren't being cheapskates,we were just young and on the Dole).Great gig anyway. And the Mission headlining? mmm..let's just say I had an early bath that night.(no offence Mish fans heh)
